In this meeting we were requested to complete a Creel log sheet when fishing for Lingcod and Rockfish, and return the forms to the DFO office on Duncan. Log sheet can be picked up at the DFO Office, or you can print this form.
Fishers, after a long wait, here is some very good news. Read below regarding the 2006 lingcod opening. It finally happened after a great deal of effort from the Sport Fishing Advisory Board, specifically the Ground fish\Shellfish working group chaired by Chuck Ashcroft over in Comox.
The only down side for now is the loss of access to the "one a day rockfish" from October to May. We can work at getting that back. The allowable catch indicated (5000 fish) may become an issue in season depending on how they manage and track catch numbers.
Regardless, this is a good news message. It goes to show that we can make a difference if we all push together.
Meeting minutes from our last meeting held Feb 27. This is provided in PDF format, and requires Adobe Reader. You can get a free copy of Adobe Reader from their website.
